We were on a search to "fix" our periods. After our shared experiences from getting off birth control pills, which led to a range of period problems and hormonal imbalances, we realized how little menstruators knew about how our bodies worked, especially due to the stigma associated with it in our culture. We wondered why there were such limited period care options available in the Philippines, and after diving deeper into it, we learned how much environmental waste a menstruator produced from their monthly pads/tampons use.
We were alarmed by the damaging effects chemicals in traditional pads/tampons had on women's health too.We wanted safe products that were free from harmful chemicals affecting our bodies and sustainable options free from artificial fibers and plastics. And we're pretty sure that we weren't alone.
